Selected engagements, products, and open-source work from twenty-plus years of building and shipping for ambitious companies. Several companies and products were acquired.
Products
Identified the market opportunity during a client engagement and built a product that puts Salesforce email back in the inbox by routing outgoing messages through your own authenticated mail server, restoring sender reputation, cleaning up Gmail's 'via Salesforce' and Outlook's 'on behalf of' tags, and giving you full control over SPF, DKIM, DMARC, and TLS.
Trusted by tier-1 listed Dutch and international enterprises, delivering over 3 million transactional and marketing email messages per month.
Originally brought in to automate desktop publishing files from CSV data. Saw the opportunity to build a full platform around the client's content operations and created it from scratch as founding engineer, technical lead, and product owner. The product automates data-driven creative production at scale, routing product and campaign data through configurable templates into a high-volume Adobe InDesign output engine that produces marketing creative for brands with large catalogs and multi-market operations.
Core capabilities include product information management (PIM), digital asset management (DAM), campaign planning, graphical design workflows, collaborative review, automated design, and both digital and print publication, forming a full content operations stack in one platform. Services span native Linux, macOS, and Windows components, with integrations to multiple ERP systems.
Delivered €4M+ in annual savings and 55% faster time-to-market for key clients. Scaled to hundreds of active users across multiple retailers during the early years, and today the product serves thousands of users at major European retailers.
Built the first versions end-to-end: product design and architecture, the InDesign automation engine, data pipelines, cross-platform services, ERP integrations, infrastructure and hardware selection, hosting, operations, and customer support. Owned the product through its first decade, grew the engineering team, and was later brought back to stabilize the platform after another team had taken it over.
The product was spun off as an independent company and later acquired by a private equity firm.
After building the content automation platform, created a lighter-weight brand management, digital asset management, and web-to-print platform serving industrial and heavy-equipment manufacturers across global markets. The product centralized brand guidelines, creative assets, and print-ready output for companies operating across multiple countries and languages.
Grew to over 120 enterprise customers across 30+ countries, including major international manufacturers in construction equipment and industrial machinery. The company was later wound down.
Identified recurring needs across client engagements and built distributable products to address them. Co-founded a company with business partners to bring these to market as AppExchange-listed managed packages spanning financial integration, enterprise billing, and native e-signature.
Financial Framework. A foundation for financial integration with accounting systems such as Exact Online and Twinfield, with two-way synchronization, live accounts receivable and accounts payable data components, multi-currency support, and subscription and entitlement handling.
Billing Engine. Enterprise invoicing and billing engine, invoicing at tens of thousands of invoices per day, supporting complex product structures, flexible invoicing schedules, subscription-based billing, credit notes, and configurable billing from any custom object, integrated natively with the Financial Framework.
Lightning Signature. A Salesforce-native electronic signature app that keeps documents and metadata on-platform, with dynamic content templates, audit logging.
The parent company was later acquired along with Financial Framework and Billing Engine.
Selected Engagements
Brought in after two previous attempts to deliver had failed. Migrated a legacy Salesforce codebase from an unmanaged org-level deployment to a namespaced 2GP managed package, stripping out legacy code and incorrect assumptions along the way. Refactored application code and flows to be namespace-aware and packaged them for distribution to multiple subscriber organizations in a permit-sensitive industry.
Built the supporting infrastructure and tooling for packaging, refactored the codebase to be more defensive, introduced frameworks, and added structured error logging and traceability.
Built several integrations, a health check dashboard, CI/CD for 2GP builds, and data migration tooling (SFDMU). Ongoing Apex development on the platform layer, with integrations across accounting, payments, government APIs, payment providers, and registration systems.
The codebase spans 140+ custom objects, 300+ flows, and 800+ Apex classes.
Brought in to help with invoicing at one of the largest publishers. Financial integration experience and a background in publishing made it a natural fit, and the scope expanded into a full Salesforce-based platform for advertising sales, order capture, and invoicing, consolidating previously disconnected legacy systems into a single platform supporting both print and digital advertising across the company's full brand portfolio.
Scope covered order capture, multi-brand billing automation, revenue consolidation, and the integration layer into the downstream accounting system, putting the company's full advertising revenue through a single system.
Designed the technical architecture and delivered the full enterprise partner management platform as sole technical build for a sales organization operating across energy, telecom, media, and B2B verticals. Self-employed partners subscribed to the platform to manage their certifications, track performance, and run their business through a branded community portal.
Built the full technical stack from scratch: self-service invoicing, event registration, and a real-time gamified leaderboard system. Integrated with ERP for automated invoice import and revenue aggregation, an external certification platform, a partner identity sync engine, digital signing, and cloud document storage.
The company was acquired shortly after the project was delivered.
Brought in as fractional CTO after the previous technical lead left without documentation. Analyzed the existing infrastructure and architecture of a retail analytics platform using 3D stereo cameras to track in-store visitor behavior. Overhauled the tech stack, rebuilt it on a modern foundation with proactive monitoring, BI/reporting, and management tooling, delivering over 90% reduction in operational issues and enabling the client to self-manage the platform.
Created prototypes for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth-based tracking and heat maps for physical location determination. Advised on market strategy, feature prioritization, and competitive positioning.

A caching compiler that makes Swift practical as a scripting language, transparently compiling and caching binaries so shebang scripts run at near-native speed with no manual build step.
Hibernate. Contributed a compilation cache that cut Hibernate/JPA restart times from minutes to near-instant, removing a major bottleneck in the development cycle for Java developers. Added automatic validation of named queries during startup.
PayPal. Discovered a vulnerability in an older PayPal API endpoint that bypassed key permission checks, allowing unauthorized fund transfers. Confirmed on production and reported to PayPal.
